The arms of this light fit into channel brackets than can be mounted directly to the back of the frame, or the wall behind the frame. This channel bracket allows height of the light to be adjusted, allowing you to light up a taller piece of art by getting a higher angle looking down at the painting. The included LED strip is rated to last over 50,000 hours, which is about 20 years with average use.
